School of Pharmacy Celebrates 25th Anniversary with Inaugural Pharmaceutical Innovation Forum

The School of Pharmacy marked its 25th anniversary by hosting its inaugural Pharmaceutical Innovation Forum, which drew over 400 participants. Attendees included domestic and international experts, scholars, faculty, and students.

Luo Sihai, Secretary of the University Party Committee, inaugurated the forum. In his opening address, he highlighted the university's recent progress and commended the School of Pharmacy for its significant contributions over the past 25 years, particularly to the university's "Double First-Class" initiative. He emphasized the forum's critical role in addressing current opportunities and challenges in pharmaceutical sciences, calling for enhanced innovation and collaboration in life sciences and health.

The forum featured keynote speeches from a panel of distinguished experts, including:Professor Finn Olav Levy from the University of Oslo, Norway; Professor Grégoire Vandecasteele from the French National Institute of Health and Medical Research (INSERM);Mr. Zhang Guimin, Chairman of Lunan Pharmaceutical Group;Professors Sun Minjie (China Pharmaceutical University), Fang Hao (Shandong University), Zhang Xiangnan (Zhejiang University), and Lin Houwen (Renji Hospital, Shanghai Jiao Tong University).

Their presentations covered cutting-edge topics across pharmacology, medicinal chemistry, pharmaceutics, industrial innovation, and clinical translation, characterized by a strong emphasis on interdisciplinary collaboration, international perspectives,and industry-academia-research integration.The sessions were chaired by renowned academics, including Professor Zheng Pengwu, Vice President of Jiangxi University of Science and Technology, and Professor Wang Jianxin, Party Secretary of the School of Pharmacy at Fudan University.Professor Zhang Hanting, Dean of the School of Pharmacy, delivered the opening remarks, while Professor Xia Chunhua, Vice Dean, concluded the event.

Serving as both a celebration of the School's history and a high-level academic platform, the forum successfully facilitated discussions on the future of pharmacy. Building on this momentum, the School of Pharmacy is committed to deepening collaboration with global universities, research institutions, and industry partners to advance China's healthcare initiatives.
